Movie files in Pretty Photo Don't Play on Recent Macs . . . help!

Since at least the Yosemite OS, Apple no longer installs the Quicktime plug-in for web browsers by default. This means that if you have an
targeting an mp4 file in Pretty Photo, this will return a "Missing plug-in" error on the user's browser.
So the question is: how do we format a link, or how do we modify the prettyphoto.js, so that mp4 movie files will work without the Quicktime plug-in on Macs running recent Mac OS's?
Incidentally, you have a similar problem your Pretty Photo product page. Scroll down to where you give the instructions for how to format a Quicktime link, the click the Demos tab. The demos do not play on a Mac running OS 10.10.5 or later in any browser; instead you get the Missing plug-in message mentioned above.

I got it to work by editing the .js file markup for the quicktime element and changing "embed" to the new HTML5 standard "video":
to
<video src="{path}" height="{height}" width="{width}"
