How to integrate prettyPhoto into Wordpress
  • Hi there,

I am trying to install prettyPhoto and prettyPopin into Wordpress and am having difficulties. I will appreciate any and all help, and I will reveal what I've tried so far. Before I posted, I looked up a lot of different information.

First, I installed prettyPhoto into wordpress using the upload feature under 'plugins' - I downloaded the 'uncompressed' version.

I then went into my header.php file and inserted the script so it can be 'activated' . I tried to paste the script in various different ways. I tried it under the 'HTML' tab function IN the post itself, I tried numerous php files, I tried the section under the header.php... I am just not sure how to get this working.

I also tried to re-name the path src in the script - for example under src i changed it to "plugins/prettyPhoto_uncompressed_2.5.6/js/jquery.js" href="plugins/prettyPhoto_uncompressed_2.5.6/css/prettyPhoto.css" and just in case it wasn't reading the path properly...

I have browsed your forums and seen that other people are having troubles as well. Is it possible that perhaps a short Wordpress tutorial can be written and posted to your site under prettyPhoto (and prettyPopin) for people? I know it would not only be helpful for myself, but many other users as well. I have tried other plugins similar to prettyPhoto - but none are as good as this.

Any help regarding installing prettyPhoto into wordpress would be appreciated.

Thanks very much for your time and understanding.
  • What version of WordPress do you have?

And I know you looked at many WP tutorials, but did you see this one?
    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/347419

    I see this line:
    Add no header.php code:

    should be:
    Add to header.php code:

I've never tried it myself, but let me know if that tutorial was something you tried.
