Galleries not valid?

I am using prettyPhoto on my website and it's working pretty good. I also "grouped" some images with rel="prettyPhoto[someName]" to show them in a gallery.
But unfortunately when I check the website with the W3C validator (http://validator.w3.org) it says that these brackets [ ] are not allowed in this attribute, so my page is no longer XHTML valid!
Is there any workaround?
