prettyPhoto not loading; different jQuery libraries?

Hi there,
I tried to include prettyPhoto into my webpage, but the (as in FAQ #1), the image is loaded as is in the same tab, without prettyPhoto.
The documentation says to load jquery.js, but there is no such file in the package. Looking at the source it seems only 1.6.1 is loaded. I'm also using 1.3.1 on the same page (for some scrollTo effect).
Is there a chance that the different libraries interfere? Should I load more/less.
