How to change parameters - title cutting off

On all browsers I try the titles get cut off at the top. I would like to increase the margin at the top to avoid this... I thought changing the default height parameter would help but I doubt it since the size seems to auto fit to the browser...
2 questions:
1. where do I input the custom parmaters from teh documentation if I want to change things.
2. How do I get the plugin to ad about 20px more padding above the image so the title will be visible?
