It will be nice in the next version to have a kind of popup bubble explaining drag to share on the part that we want to share. Hope you understand what I mean.
agreed... i think this is a great sharing interface... VISUALLY. but there are some clear usability issues:
1. you are asking users to DRAG a link, which is not a standard behavior so it must be learned
2. to make it worse, prettySocial requires users to drag an object to a destination that is unknown and not visible when the dragging is initiated.
the combination of these two issues makes prettySocial particularly hard to use: non-standard + no visual cues to required behavior
it took me a while to figure this out, i tried clicking on it but was just taken to the top of the page (due to the "#" empty anchor link... this should probably be replaced with "javascript:void();" to avoid that behavior) then when i actually read the instructions i figured it out, but it still felt unnatural (*valuable lesson*: most people will NOT read instructions, ESPECIALLY for things they think they already know how to do: like "share" something on the web... :)
I'd love to see a version of this where the share menu is brought up by clicking on the share link which preserves the web standard of how to share things, but maintains the visually pleasing sharing menu. Clicking on something other than one of the buttons hides the share menu.
