prettyPhoto 3.1.2 single image code doesn't work
  • Strange behavior in my page. The following does work when multiple items are included on the page, like:

    <a rel="prettyPhoto[pp_gal]" href="./a_1.jpg"><img src="./a_1.jpg" alt="a campaign" /></a>
    <a rel="prettyPhoto[pp_gal]" href="./a_2.jpg"><img src="./a_2.jpg" alt="a campaign" /></a>
    <a rel="prettyPhoto[pp_gal]" href="./a_3.jpg"><img src="./a_3.jpg" alt="a campaign" /></a>

    But when I try to get the single picture example as a full screen picture, the following code doesn't show any picture:

    <a rel="prettyPhoto" href="./a_1.jpg"><img src="./a_1.jpg" alt="a campaign" /></a>

    does anybody know what could be the problem?

  • Hi,
    Do you show the thumbnail in the page? Do you have a website that somebody can take a look at?
  • Yes, when you surf to: you will see the gallery version and when you hit : this should be the single picture version.
  • Hi,
    Why you don't try to put prettyphoto[pp_gal] like the others. Anyway, the pictures are grouped by other application - photoslider?. My question is why the picture is not loaded to the photoslider? Do you think the photoslider use the grouping [...] for identification or something else? Actually prettyphoto works after the picture is loaded to the slider. I need more time to analyzed it.
    For someone who want to help, look for:
    <!-- auto_verkoper ID=10 -->
    BTW: not related to your problem, but social_tools: 'false' without quote ('). If you have white border you will see the word false.
  • Why you don't try to put prettyphoto[pp_gal] like the others.

    Because I followed the single image example from

    “Create a link ().
    Add the rel attribute “prettyPhoto” to it (rel=”prettyPhoto”).
    Change the href of your link so it points to the full size image.”

    I really don't know why it doesn't load the picture as it is exactly the same code used for both examples.

    Thanks for the 'false' solution.
  • Hi,
    The grouping actually is needed when you have several picture is one page and you want the pictures grouped in some group on the show(box). Another purpose if you want to display only one thumbnail but on the show(box) you want to display several pictures. If you have only one picture and you put the group it is ok.
    In your case I expect the photoslider needs the group although only one picture.
  • Just for my understanding. You mean that I will need the same code on both pages? I'm not really sure what you mean by grouping, but I assume you mean the '[pp_gal]' part?
  • Hi,
    It seem there should be more than one slides:
    See the comments on slides.jquery.js:
    // 2 or more slides required
    if (total < 2) {
  • You are absolutely right! That did the trick. I'm very sorry it isn't prettyphoto related. Big regards for helping out.

Howdy, Stranger!
